Abstract: I am archaeologist and numismatist. I work in the Ossoliński National Institute in Wrocław, Poland. My main field of research has been for several years Roman ancient coinage. Currently I am working on the beginnings of Germanic coinage. I am primarily interested in the earliest runic insciption in the Elder Futhark and especially in the earliest runic imitative coinage. I was granted a three-week Kazimierz Salewicz scholarship in the Nationalmuseet at Copenhagen, thanks to which I had the opportunity to realise my research project entitled: “The earliest runic coins: tradition older than we thought”.
