Juliana Roost
PhD student, Department of Antiquities, University of Basel, Switzerland
My PhD-project is on text types in runic inscriptions in the elder futhark and Gaulish inscriptions in Latin script. I want to examine how the use of language and script compare to each other and to those of contemporary Latin inscriptions. I am interested to see to what extent we can detect similarities, possibly due to contact or, conversely, unique features of the epigraphic traditions.
